Thanks for everything, Mama. Specifically for teaching me the MC Hammer & forcing me on a roller coaster when I totally wasn’t ready (MEAN! But oh so worth it). Thanks for my Debbie Gibson tape & those black high top Nike’s in 4th grade (I know you couldn’t afford em). Thanks for your crazy silliness & for being humble enough to admit when you were wrong. Thank you for never leaving the 80s behind & showing me how to accept those that are unaccepted. (You wrote the best love notes, ya know.) Thank you for being so unconventional. You always said you felt like you were doing everything wrong, but I have to say, all your wrongs were just right for me.
